Celebrate Tu B'Shvat—the New Year for Trees—with a creative and hands-on woodworking experience with special guest, Brendan Pozsgai!

Join us for a night of artistry, connection, and a deeper appreciation for nature as we work with locally sourced Atlanta-grown wood to craft your very own charcuterie board.

Special Tu B'shvat refreshments will be served - there is a custom to eat fruit from the Seven Species that are mentioned in the Torah in connection with the Land of Israel. 

What to Expect:

• Locally Sourced Materials: Choose between two beautiful wood species—a light and dark option—harvested from Atlanta's own trees.

• Step-by-Step Process: 

  • Sand and prepare your wood.

  • Optionally drill a hole for practical designs.

  • Get creative by sketching a design for laser engraving or use wood-burning pens for a personal touch.

  • Practice your technique on wood scraps before finalizing your piece.

  • Finish your board with a homemade mineral oil and wax blend that protects and hydrates, leaving your creation water-resistant and ready to use.

Important: Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting sawdust on!

Meet the Instructor:

Brendan Pozsgai, originally from the Boston area, has called Atlanta home for the past seven years. His passion for woodworking took root during the COVID pandemic, where he began creating one-of-a-kind gifts using local Atlanta tree species. By day, Brendan is an IT product manager, and in his free time, he trains to run a marathon in every state. Feel free to reach out with questions!
