Numbers have a lot of meaning in our Jewish tradition.  Gematria is a basic part of the building blocks of creation.

Throw in the Baal Shem Tov’s teaching that everything serves as a lesson for us in our service of Hashem, 3333 becomes even more noteworthy.

3333 is the number of years since the revelation and the events of Sinai.  We will commemorate and observe the holiday of Shavous this Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday.  See here.

Three is a Chazakah.  That means in Jewish law, something that occurs three times takes on a permanence to it.  So 3333 takes on a permanence of the events of Sinai and for me is asking the following question; Have I internalized the messaging of what transpired on that day?

For a very short while the veil was lifted, the concealment was removed.  The struggle that I live each day to be true to my core, to my Neshama, to my purpose on this earth for those few moments at Sinai was cleared and transparent.

Since then, the curtain came back down and we live in the tension between truth and the facade.  It’s actually the Human condition to live in this no-mans land. The upside of 3333 is that we were given the capacity to constantly rise above it.  To go back to the well of truth and elevate ourselves out of the falsity long enough to recalibrate.

The facade has become more challenging lately but the access to 3333 has also become that much more available.  It’s immediately beneath the surface and in fact hiding in plain sight, there for the picking.

I speak of Torah study and connection to Hashem.  It’s all right there. More than ever we have the ability to study Torah in any language through every medium.  We have the ability if we choose to, to drink the elixir of truth to help us elevate above the facade.

It’s ours for the taking, 3333 is the year!

Good Shabbos!
